Administrative Assistant, Part-time

The Administrative Assistant handles a range of functions to make the administration activities within the Samaritan Center run efficiently and assists the Executive Assistant with the day-to-day operations at the Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, and other duties may be assigned:

Accounting:

  • Manage office petty cash fund
  • Collect, maintain and produce statistical reports as assigned
  • Financial donation processing
  • Annual filings and reports for non-profits
  • Backup to Accounting Department, including possibly processing payroll, scanning checks and receipts

Communications/Event Planning:

  • Assist with set up and tear down at various Communication events and event planning support

Secretarial:

  • Organize appointments and meetings
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Manage filing system and master copy of all forms
  • Order and organize office supplies

Operations:

  • Update and adjust Center phone system
  • Staff Assistance Committee member
  • Project management
  • Interdepartmental communication

Personnel Records

  • Process new employees (background check/process employee packet)
  • Produce Employee Handbook copies and maintain staff files
  • Maintain employee shirtsStaff Management:
  • Staff Appreciation planning

Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently, multi-task and take initiative, and properly prioritize tasks
  • Dependable, punctual, and honest in dealing with time, money and materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Keyboard and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
  • Professional attire
  • Requires sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Eager to be involved in a Christian organization that makes an impact on this community

Hours: M-F 8am – 11am

Pay: $15-17/hour
