Get help from the Samaritan Center

Get short-term financial help quickly. Get back on your feet – for good.

Finding temporary financial help can be slow and confusing, but it doesn’t have to be.

Most government support programs are made for people who need long-term help. They don’t cover a month of groceries, utilities, or rent. People in an urgent financial situation often don’t know what to do or where to go for help.

At the Samaritan Center, we understand how overwhelming it can be to deal with life’s hard moments.

We are here to help.

The Samaritan Center Mission

We are on a mission to meet the basic physical, spiritual, and social needs of people in our area, using the minstry of Jesus as our model.

Most Americans today live paycheck to paycheck and have very little cushion for the unexpected. When difficult moments do come along, it can create a financial hardship. And when a crisis hits, survival mode kicks in. You begin worrying where the money will come from to keep food on the table, clothes on your back, and a stable home for your family. All you want to do is pay your bills and get through the hard times so you can get back to stability and enjoy your life.

Finding temporary financial help can be slow and confusing. Most government support programs are made for people who need long term help. They don’t cover a month of groceries, utilities, or rent. People in this situation don’t know what to do or where to go for help. It can be extremely stressful and often feel hopeless.

At the Samaritan Center, we understand how overwhelming it can be to deal with life’s hard moments. We know the hopelessness that results when the walls are caving in and how confusing it can be to try to find help.

We live in a broken world, but thankfully Jesus gave us an example for offering help and hope to people experiencing personal crisis. For 38 years, the Samaritan Center has been providing support and restoring hope. Operating with the ministry of Jesus as our model, we help our neighbors in Eastern Hamilton County meet their basic needs during life’s hard moments. Last year alone (2023), we provided more than $1 million of assistance to people in need.

If you or someone you know needs help meeting basic needs, call us at (423) 238-7777. We will connect you with a case manager so you can get the assistance you need and get your life back in order – for good.

In the meantime, visit our amazing thrift store at 9231 Lee Highway (next to Ace Hardware) to shop, donate your personal items, or take a tour of the operations that power our social service ministry.
