For the children of our social service clients, summer camp only happens in daydreams. However, in the summer, a number of children receive sponsorship, and their dream of summer camp becomes a reality. Each year, the Samaritan Center partners with Cohutta Springs Youth Camp in Crandall, Georgia, to give children an unforgettable experience.

“Cohutta is a fun place and I enjoyed it so much! I’m so happy that me and God is getting closer. There was a lot of things I didn’t know about God.” – Ashley

For many of our clients’ children, one week of camp surrounded by nature and a positive Christian atmosphere is a stark contrast to their everyday lives. The cabins children stay in are surrounded by a peaceful wooded area and a large lake for water activities. Hiking, rowing, swimming, and rope courses with friends can be a life-changing experience. Nature, fellowship, and rest provide kids with a chance to take off the stress of life and become a kid again.

“It felt so good to be myself without being judged. I met new people and made friends.” – Portia
