Nancy had devoted her life to running her own business, but when she became a mother all that changed. “My whole focus shifted to revolve around my baby, Jonathan.” Nancy explained, “And although he is practically an adult as his mother it is difficult to see him leave for Navy boot camp.”

Shortly, Nancy had more challenges than Jonathan leaving home for boot camp. As a small business owner, Nancy was hit hard when she had to close down her business due to COVID-19.

After six weeks of her business being closed, Nancy turned to the Samaritan Center for assistance. A case manager was able to arrange the assistance she needed.

Nancy is not alone in her struggle to pay bills after losing her job. The Samaritan Center, through the support of our donors, has been able to provide rent, utility, and food assistance to many individuals in our community who are in need.
