Services

After meeting with a case manager who will assess your needs your case manager may recommend the following services:

  • Help with utilities, rent, or life-sustaining medications
  • Food through our Community Food Pantry
  • Clothing, furniture, and household items through our thrift stores
  • Cleaning supplies and personal care products that cannot be purchased with food stamps
  • Layettes filled with necessities for newborns
  • School supplies
  • Much, much more!

Below you will find four other areas of service emphasis at the Samaritan Center.

Stock Their Lockers

Stock Their Lockers enables children in need in our community to start their school year off right, with a backpack full of new school supplies.

During Stock Their Lockers, individuals in our community collect new backpacks, pencils, paper, crayons, glue sticks, and other school supplies and donate them to the Center.

Families undergo a complete financial evaluation and once deemed eligible are invited to bring their children to the Center to select their own schools supplies from our Stock Their Lockers “store.”

Monetary donations given by community members for Stock Their Lockers go toward funding items that haven’t come in during collection drives.

Community Food Pantry

Our Community Food Pantry distributes more than 45,000 items of food each year.

We get our food supply from three sources:

Food Pantry Partners: Food Pantry Partners take on their food commitment for one year at a time. If you would like to be a partner, call for more information: 423.238.7777.

Food Drives and Individual Donations: If you, your church, or your business would like a more short-term commitment, consider doing a food drive for the Center. We also appreciate individual donations, which can be dropped off at the Center’s office Monday through Thursday 9:00am – 4:00 p.m, or at the Donation Dock, Mon-Thu, 9am-5pm, Friday, 9am-12pm, or Sunday, 1-4pm. If you cannot come during these times, call 423.238.7777 to make special arrangements.

The Samaritan Center assists thousands of clients through our Community Food Pantry. If you need assistance with food, please make an appointment with a case manager by calling 423.238.7777.
